Nice to be back in the ‘hood after a week away in hospital. A cool breeze announces a shift in the weather—today will bring welcome rain. I sit on the steps of the duomo watching the city prepare for the day. On a level just below deliberate thought, ideas for the book I’m writing—set here in Perugia—rise, interrupting my survey of the piazza, then take hold or slip away.
